Penny Back In Action

Penny and Kim White are a successful barrel racing team. Kim describes Penny as “strong willed,” but we think that’s code for “racing diva.” Known around the barn as Miss Penny, she is smart, powerful, and athletic and loves to run the barrels. Penny is always on the move—the makings of a great barrel horse.

Unfortunately, Penny became ill and the team was sidelined. While ill, Penny came under the care of Dr. Dawn Hoover who helped her recover and get back to barrel racing. Kim wrote a note to Dr. Hoover thanking her for her excellent care of Penny. “I will never be able to thank you enough for leading Penny to recovery!”

While we knew Penny had recovered and was doing well, we didn’t know how well until Kim sent us a photo of their run in the BBR 2015 World Finals. Kim said she was “ecstatic” that Penny ran so well. The BBR 2015 World Finals was the team’s first run since Penny’s illness. The drive to Oklahoma City was a long one, which made Kim wary about how the race would turn out. She could not have been more pleased with the results.

We here at Mid-Rivers are thrilled to see Penny and Kim back in action and doing what they love. Kim, we understand Penny is a special part of your family, and we can’t thank you and your family enough for entrusting her care to us.

Happy racing!
